December 2009: end-of-the-year review
An eventful year is drawing to a close at Pro Cosara. Our endeavors to protect the San Rafael Nature Reserve in the south east of Paraguay are still proving difficult, but there have been a few very positive and promising developments in the last year.

Ride for the Trees - An Environmental Bicycle Tour through the Americas
On January 1st, 2009, the two Peace Corps Volunteers Samuel Hagler and Randy Jones will start a 10,000-mile bicycle tour through 13 countries from Paraguay to the United States. Their ride across the Americas is planned to last about 10 months. Along the way they will make environmental education presentations, conduct media interviews, and continue fundraising to reach their goal of $100,000 to protect the San Rafael Reserve in Paraguay.
