Ride for the Trees
An Environmental Bicycle Tour through the Americas
On January 1st, 2009, Samuel Hagler and Randy Jones will start a 10,000-mile bicycle tour through 13 countries from Paraguay to the United States. Their ride across the Americas is planned to last about 10 months. Along the way they will make environmental education presentations, conduct media interviews, and continue fundraising to reach their goal of $100,000 to protect the San Rafael Reserve in Paraguay.
Samuel Hagler and Randy Jones worked as Peace Corps Volunteers in Paraguay between 2006 and 2008. They stayed near the San Rafael Reserve, worked with local farmers and peasants and participated in several conservation projects.
